Wedding Food and Drink Ideas to Impress your Guests
Exceptional food and drink are at the heart of every wedding here at Manor Mews, created by head chef Keith McDowell and his talented team. Let’s take a look at some inspirational wedding food and drink ideas, delighting your guests from that first delicious canapé.
The Welcome
After your ceremony, it’s time to enjoy welcome drinks, either in the barn or outside on the lawn. Tantalising canapés might include salmon fritters, mini beef pasties or tiger prawn tempura – just a few possibilities from a fabulous selection of both hot and cold canapés.
The Drinks
Alongside a well-considered wine list, we think you’ll love our cocktail menu, perhaps including a cocktail-hour as part of your welcome reception and enjoy alongside some delicious canapes. Choose from classics such as the Bellini, Kir Royale or Mojito, or have a little fun with a Cosmopolitan or Gordon’s Pink Lady. We can also source real ale.
The Main Event
Using only the freshest seasonal produce, locally sourced where possible, we‘re set to delight with the menu options for your wedding breakfast. Speak to our talented team about what might best suit the style and date of your wedding, from Crayfish and Brancaster Crab Cocktail as a summer starter to Roast Rump of Norfolk Spring Lamb as the perfect choice for a spring main course.
Of course, we also offer an exceptional vegetarian menu and can cater for other dietary requirements.
If you like the idea of a less formal dining experience, you might consider one of our Sharing Platters. Choose from butter roasted free range chicken with pan roasted fillets of sea bass, roasted rib of Norfolk pork or whole roasted shoulders or Norfolk lamb and invite your guests to carve at the table, sharing a magnificent feast.
Alternatively, serve your own traditional afternoon tea, a lovely choice for an English country barn wedding, with sandwiches, macaroons, miniature desserts and patisserie.
The Evening
As day turns to evening, gone are the days of the bland-looking buffet. We’re here to entice your guests with delicious evening menu choices, from fish and chips to hot filled rolls, hog roasts, a pizza buffet and even magnificent paella. We also love to host a barbecue, with a variety of different menu options. Our evening food is tasty, fun and colourful – the perfect accompaniment to your party!
