Summer Love at Manor Mews
Setting a late-September wedding date, Victoria and Sam decided to tie the knot at Manor Mews. With a delicate pastel colour scheme, personalised decorations and a relaxed vibe, their summer celebration was a delight for all.
The Venue
Victoria and Sam fell in love with Manor Mews as soon as they walked through the beautiful double doors.
“It’s a beautiful barn and just perfect for what we wanted.” – Victoria
The Decor
Choosing a pastel colour scheme for their late summer wedding, this creative couple made most of the decorations themselves, collecting wood to make their own arch and draping material over it. Victoria collected tea cups from charity shops to make favours and the barn was given a subtle Disney theme.
“We wanted it to be a relaxing day. A friend of ours did the flowers and we bought olive trees for the aisle. We had a number of Disney decorations at home that we brought to Manor Mews and we used photo frames for the table names.” – Victoria
The Look
After trying on a number of dresses, Victoria found her dream gown in ‘Brides of Norfolk’ in Fakenham.
“I loved my dress as soon as I put it on. It was straight and elegant with detail at the top and a beautiful long train.” – Victoria
The beautiful bride accessorised with pearl jewellery and ivory shoes with pearl detail. She also wore a head piece that her mother had worn for her own wedding.
“It meant a lot to me to wear it as sadly my dad passed away four years ago.” – Victoria
Meanwhile, Sam looked the part in a navy suit, tweed waistcoat and ivory tie while his ushers wore the same suits with different waistcoats and pale blue ties.
Finally, the bridesmaids were stunning in pastel-coloured knee-length dresses and silver shoes.
The Food
Following their romantic ceremony in the barn, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed welcome drinks and canapés before sitting down to the wedding breakfast – a delicious menu of roast chicken followed by a passionfruit cheesecake.
“Sam is a chef and hates cooking roast dinners so we don’t have them often!” – Victoria
As day turned to evening, musician Lee Vann sang and DJ’d, with Victoria and Sam dancing their first dance to ‘Chasing Cars’ by Snow Patrol. Chip cones and bacon butties proved an extremely popular choice for evening dining – a great finale to this special day.
The Highlights
“Marrying Sam. I was so nervous about walking down the aisle but as I started to walk and looked at Sam, all that went away. I couldn’t take my eyes off him and I knew everything would be OK.”
